What it is

Next.js is a framework built on React that handles routing, server-side rendering, static site generation, and API routes in one project. It ships with Rust-based tooling (Turbopack and an SWC compiler) for bundling and builds. Web developers use it to build anything from marketing sites and blogs to large dynamic applications, deploying to Node servers, static hosts, or edge platforms.
