Open Agents

What it is

A TypeScript web app, agent runtime, and sandbox orchestrator that takes a chat prompt and turns it into code changes on a GitHub repo. Each agent executes as a long-lived, resumable workflow that sits outside the isolated Vercel sandbox VMs, works through file, search, shell, and web tools, and can commit, push, and open pull requests once a run finishes. Sandboxes hibernate and resume from snapshots, and sessions can be shared via read-only links. Teams that want their own hosted background agent fork it and adapt the pieces rather than using it as a finished product.
