What it is

Android version of bitchat, a chat app that relays messages between nearby phones over a Bluetooth LE mesh (up to seven hops) and switches to Nostr relays when internet is available. Private messages use Noise Protocol encryption, and it adds geohash-based location channels, password-protected group channels, IRC-style commands, built-in Tor, and an emergency data wipe. No account or phone number is needed, so people at protests, festivals, or in areas without signal can keep talking with others nearby, including iOS users.
