What it is

Newton is a Python physics simulation engine built on NVIDIA Warp, with MuJoCo Warp as its main solver backend. It runs rigid-body and articulated simulations on the GPU, loads robots from URDF and OpenUSD, supports differentiable simulation, and lets users plug in their own solvers and components. Roboticists and simulation researchers use it to run large batches of parallel environments for tasks such as training control policies. It started as a joint effort by Disney Research, Google DeepMind, and NVIDIA and is now a Linux Foundation project.
