What it is

Telegraf is a single static binary that reads data from inputs such as system counters, Docker, SNMP, MQTT, Kafka, Modbus, OPC UA and Windows event logs, then transforms, aggregates and writes it to outputs like InfluxDB, Prometheus or message queues. Pipelines are defined in a TOML file, and more than 300 plugins cover servers, network gear, cloud services and industrial devices. Operations and IoT teams run it on hosts and gateways to feed time-series databases and monitoring stacks.
