portless

Named .localhost HTTPS URLs for local dev servers instead of port numbers

What it is

A command-line tool and local proxy that gives each development server a stable hostname such as myapp.localhost, with HTTPS and HTTP/2 through a locally trusted certificate authority. It assigns ports automatically, injects port flags for frameworks like Vite and Astro, and discovers packages in monorepos with Turborepo support. Web developers juggling several local apps, and the coding agents working alongside them, use it to stop tracking which service runs on which port.
