What it is

Turso is an embedded SQL engine written in Rust that is compatible with SQLite's dialect, file format, and C API, and adds an experimental Postgres frontend with its own wire protocol. It compiles SQL to bytecode for a virtual machine, and adds concurrent writes via MVCC, change data capture, async I/O with io_uring, vector search, and experimental encryption and full-text search. Developers embed it in Rust, Go, JavaScript, Python, Java, .NET, or browser apps through WebAssembly when they want a SQLite-style database with newer features.
