OpenMetadata
Data catalog with lineage, quality checks, and governance metadata
What it is
OpenMetadata is a self-hostable metadata platform that gathers schemas, lineage down to the column level, data quality tests, ownership, glossaries, and data contracts from more than 130 sources into one searchable graph. It includes profiling, observability alerts, review workflows, and an MCP server plus APIs and SDKs so AI assistants can query the same context. Data engineering and governance teams run it to help analysts find trustworthy datasets and see what breaks when a table or column changes.
