Microsoft Agent Framework

Python and .NET SDK for building agents and multi-agent workflows

What it is

Microsoft's open framework for writing AI agents in Python and C#/.NET, with graph-based workflows that chain agents sequentially, concurrently, or through handoffs and group chats. It adds checkpointing, human-in-the-loop steps, middleware, OpenTelemetry tracing, YAML-defined agents, and a local developer UI for testing. Developers moving agent systems toward production use it across providers such as Azure OpenAI and OpenAI, and teams on Semantic Kernel or AutoGen get migration guides.
