What it is

prettymaps fetches OpenStreetMap layers such as streets, buildings, water and parks for a place name or coordinates, then renders them with matplotlib using custom colors, palettes and boundary shapes like circles. It ships JSON style presets, hillshade and multi-map layouts, plus a Streamlit front end for tweaking maps in the browser. Designers, hobbyists and generative artists use it to make printable city maps and map art from code.
