DESIGN.md
Markdown format that tells coding agents how a design system looks
What it is
DESIGN.md is a file format specification that pairs YAML design tokens (colors, typography, spacing, radii, components) with markdown prose explaining how to apply them, so coding agents can build UIs that match a visual identity. It ships with a CLI that lints a file against the spec, flags broken token references and WCAG contrast problems, and diffs two versions to catch regressions. Designers and front-end teams keep one in their repo so agents that generate interface code stay consistent with the brand.
