ESPectre

Firmware that turns an ESP32 into a camera-free Wi-Fi motion sensor

What it is

ESPectre reads Wi-Fi channel state information on an ESP32 board and detects movement, along with a score for how much is happening, from changes in how signals travel through a room, with all processing on the device. It ships ready-to-flash firmware for ESPHome, MQTT, and Matter, a C++ SDK you can build into your own projects, a MicroPython port, browser tools for flashing and monitoring, and a host CLI. Home Assistant users and DIY builders can use it to trigger lights, heating, or alerts per room without cameras or radar, and researchers get the open CSI dataset and trained detector weights.
