What it is

fff is a file search toolkit written in Rust that offers fuzzy path matching, content grep, frequency-ranked results, a background file watcher, and an in-memory content index. It ships as a Neovim plugin, an MCP server for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, and bindings for Rust, C, Python, Bun, and Node.js. Editor and agent-harness developers embed it when their long-running process needs to search a codebase repeatedly without spawning ripgrep or fzf each time.
