What it is

Terax is a Tauri-based desktop app that combines a GPU-rendered terminal with split panes, a CodeMirror editor with language server support, a file explorer, git staging with a commit graph, and a preview pane for local dev servers. Its AI side panel runs agentic tasks such as planning, file edits with hunk-level review, and approval-gated shell commands. The agent can use your own API keys for hosted providers or local models through Ollama, LM Studio, or MLX. Developers who want terminal, editor, and coding agent in one lightweight window, without telemetry or an account, can install it on macOS, Linux, or Windows.
