What it is
DeerFlow is a ByteDance agent system that coordinates a lead agent with sub-agents, sandboxed code execution, long-term memory, and extensible skills to work through tasks lasting minutes to hours. It began as a deep research framework and now also writes code, browses the web, generates reports and podcasts, and connects to chat channels and MCP servers. Developers and teams run it with Docker or locally, plug in their own model providers, and use the web UI, terminal workbench, or embedded Python client to hand off multi-step work.
