Vendor-neutral spec for exchanging semantic models between data tools

What it is

An incubating Apache specification that defines a common JSON and YAML format for semantic models: metrics, KPIs, dimensions, and business definitions. The repository holds the core spec and schema, reference converters for formats such as dbt, GoodData, and Salesforce, example models including TPC-DS, and validation tooling. Data platform vendors and analytics teams adopt it so the same metric means the same thing across BI dashboards, warehouses, and AI agents.
