Apache Maka

Local-first agent workspace that logs every model call and tool action

  • AI coding agents
  • Agent frameworks and tools
View on GitHub

What it is

Maka is an AI agent harness with a desktop app, terminal UI, and CLI that share one runtime host. Model messages, tool calls, permission choices, and stops all go into an append-only event log, which feeds the interface, builds the next prompt, and handles crash recovery. Developers connect their own cloud API, local model, or gateway, run coding and multi-step tasks in their projects, and keep sessions and run records on their own machine. The project publishes benchmark results that pit it against competing harnesses running the same underlying model.
