What it is

Zigbee2MQTT talks to a Zigbee USB or network adapter and translates messages from lights, sensors, and switches into MQTT topics, so the devices can be controlled without the manufacturer's gateway. It supports thousands of devices from brands like IKEA, Philips, and Xiaomi, and includes web front ends for pairing and configuration. Home automation hobbyists run it alongside Home Assistant, Domoticz, ioBroker, or any other system that speaks MQTT.
